We are James and Ashley Priest, the passionate terran duo that started Terran Coffee. We’re thrilled to have you here! Now that you're here, here's a little bit about us. Terran Coffee is here to offer you an exceptional selection of roasted-to-order gourmet coffee along with a small carefully curated selection of six artisanal hand-crafted loose-leaf tea infusions. We believe that coffee and tea alike should taste amazing. We also understand that different people have different tastes.
That’s why we’ve curated a diverse range of superb coffees to delight our patrons. At Terran Coffee, quality and freshness are our top priorities. We’re getting up there in our years. I’m knocking on the door of 50 while my wife (never tell a woman’s age) remains ageless throughout time. Since the age of 15 when I started working as a baker at Dunkin Donuts, I’ve had a love for coffee.
After years of developing a refined palate for various coffee flavors, we decided to share our passion with the world. With over 40 varieties to choose from, we’re confident that our collection has something for everyone. Whether you prefer cold-pressed coffee, French press, espresso drinks, or a classic gravity brew, we have the perfect beans for you.
We often hear that our coffee costs more than store-bought brands, and that’s true. Quality coffee comes at a price for several reasons. Our beans are sourced from small family farms that prioritize quality and sustainability over mass production and profit. Our beans don’t get roasted and bagged sitting around weeks, months, or years waiting to be brewed remain green until you place your order.
That’s when the magic happens, and our expert roasters bring those green beans to life, crafting perfectly roasted beans every time. You’d be surprised at what some popular store brands do to their beans to help preserve them and at how long some coffee spends sitting around on store shelves. Conventional coffees are among the most chemically treated foods in the world, often saturated with synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, insecticides, and more.
At Terran Coffee, we add nothing to our beans except heat and love. Unless you order one of our flavored coffees like Mocha, Hazelnut, Caramel, Pumpkin Spice, etc., in which case we use all-natural flavoring. Our beans must be more than fresh; they must be cultivated with care. This often means sourcing from smaller crops that use sustainable practices, rather than large corporate farms with questionable methods. For us, freshness is paramount.
Once roasted, your beans are promptly shipped from our store to your door. When your coffee arrives and you get that first whiff of the invigorating aroma, you’ll see smell the difference fresh roasted coffee makes. When you brew your first cup and take that first sip, you’ll understand why we say our coffee is otherworldly. Life without coffee just wouldn’t be the same. Coffee has fueled many days and nights for us here at Terran Coffee.
We have a young son named Ethan who has a rare terminal genetic disorder called Menkes Disease. We’ve spent quite a bit of time in hospitals and traveling to them, sustained by coffee. Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) holds a special place in our hearts which can read more about in the “Why Nationwide” section of our website.
Upon opening Terran Coffee, without hesitation we decided to donate a portion of all coffee sales to NCH. With every sip of Terran Coffee or Tea, you’re helping children and families in need.
